In February 2018, the Croatian government declared the " Regional Water Supply System of the Zagreb County - Zagreb East " a strategic investment project of the Republic of Croatia.The project includes the cities of Dugo Selo, Ivanić-Grad, Vrbovec and Sveti Ivan Zelina, as well as the municipalities of Brckovljani, Rugvica, Kloštar Ivanić, Križ, Dubrava, Farkaševac, Gradec, Preseka, Rakovec and Bedenica.

The client is the municipal service VODOOPSKRBA I ODVODNJA ZAGREBAČKE ŽUPANIJE d.o.o. (Water supply and drainage) based in Zagreb. The project is financed by the European Structural and Investment Fund 2014-2020 and has an investment volume of approx. 700 mio. HRK (approx. 94,5 mio. €). The EU grant is approx. 480 mio HRK (approx. 64.8 mio. €).

The extensive measures include the construction of 5 water towers, 15 pumping stations and the "Kosnica" water elevated tank. A new water supply network of over 316.000 m is being built and at the same time an existing network of 108.000 m is being renovated. Almost 9.000 new house connections will be built as part of these measures

This project is the largest project in water supply in the Republic of Croatia until now. In the course of a public tender, the bidding consortium consisting of igr d.o.o, Zagreb, Promacon d.o.o., Bjelovar and igr AG, Rockenhausen received the order for construction supervision for the construction of all measures.

The construction supervision comprises 7 individual measures. Each individual construction contract is carried out in accordance with the FIDIC Red Book Conditions and the law and regulations of the Republic of Croatia. Participation in the implementation of this important strategic project is very important for igr. The overall project is expected to be completed by May 2024.
