The army central hospital in Koblenz (BWZK) is a specialist hospital with around 500 beds.

The building stock comprises buildings erected between 1952 and 2007. The development planning for the hospital, and the long-term possible construction options were examined in the masterplan, together with the result and the objective of a near-term creation of a future-orientated and flexible infrastructure. igr’s planning objective is the process-orientated structural implementation of the restructuring of the infrastructure and the traffic facilities. The present upgrading planning and various ES construction documents for the multi-storey car park, the ambulance station, the accommodation building and the assembly hall, as well as the first construction phase of the medical procedures and operations building, are all to be integrated into the overall plan. In the individual planning meetings concerning the large-scale building projects the infrastructure restructuring will be engaged with and expertly discussed.
