Even with 30 years as a successful engineering company behind us, we must constantly ask whether we are prepared for the tasks that lie ahead in the next few years and decades. For us, this is no empty cliché, but rather we are putting into practice, with great commitment, the concept of making ourselves fit for the future.

For the last two years a steering group of 14 igr staff (including board members, draftsmen, sales staff and departmental and branch managers) has been meeting quarterly. Every process and rule (whether written or unwritten), all internal and external communication, technical working frameworks, personnel, markets, and, of course, strategic orientation are put under the spotlight, as we together develop a strategy for the future. We have already implemented dozens of individual action points, and are working away at improvements in effective small themed working groups.

In September 2015 the most important insights and results were presented to all 80 igr staff in an internal event (with branch offices connected via Skype) - very much in the spirit of typical igr transparency. At the barbecue that followed, we all agreed to continue to be proactive, rather than reactive, in forming our future at igr.
