A delegation of the City of Krk headed by Mr. Mayor Darijo Vasilić has visited over the Whitsun weekend, the twin town Rockenhausen. The occasion was the first anniversary of the signing of the town twinning charter in Krk, in August last year. Now had followed the counter-signature in Rockenhausen.

Due to the fact that the igr is already active on the Island of Krk for a many years, wanted political representatives of the City of Krk to visit the headquarters of the igr.

The exchange of experiences was a target of the visit. The igr presented to the guests from Krk the project "Gensingen - planning, building, residing and living together".

Gensingen as a part of the Municipality of Sprendlingen-Gensingen, which belongs to the research project "Zero emission Municipalities as a strategic objective for a sustainable land management", goes after the objective to become a Municipality of the Zero emission. To fulfill this objective, at the proposed construction area the resource-saving technologies should be realized, starting with the use of the density to the opening up and the heat and energy management.

The Mayor and his deputy, Mr. Miller, found this very interesting because in 2012, the Zero emissions strategy for the entire island of Krk, has been developed by the igr in a collaboration with IfaS. Individual measures are being currently implemented.

A great interest was shown by the visitors about information on the waste water disposal and treatment.

Another issue was the development of a tourist area in the district of the City of Krk. A project developer from Munich, as well as an investment company want to implement this measure together with the igr. Again, a zero-emission location will be sought.
