On the 13th of June 2014, the municipality on the river Moselle does not only celebrate their yearly wine fair, but also the official completion of the expansion of B 53 and the one of their development area "Zellerberg".
Concerning the two projects last mentioned, not only contributed igr significantly in planning, but also Palatia Ingenieur- und Städtebau GmbH (Palatia engineering and urban development Ltd.) functioned as developer.
Planning and implementation of the expansions of the B 53 were transferred completely to the municipality of Mehring by LBM Trier. The municipality, in turn, assigned planning, tendering and construction supervision to igr. Even the municipal works of Schweich entrusted us with the task of installing new waste water and storm water sewers as well as sewage pipes. A total of € 1 million has been invested in the construction in only six months.
With only a short delay, the development of the building area "Zelterberg" took place. In only 14 months, 110 new building lots were created. Palatia Ingenieur- und Städtebau GmbH as a subsidiary company of igr was, in its position as developer, in charge of the complete processing and financing via a joint account with all property owners. It assigned all planning services starting with obtaining the building permit via technical planning through to construction supervision. It was a tough challenge for our building planners, who mastered their tasks with flying colors and to the utmost satisfaction of all parties involved.
The property owners gave their thanks for the adherence of financial limits, which were even slightly undercut.
On occasion of the official inauguration, federal and national representatives were present: country commissioner Schartz with his town councilors, representatives of the associated municipality administration of Schweich with the municipal mayor Christiane Horsch, representatives of ARGE Lehnen/Wey, and, of course, essential persons of igr and Palatia Ingenieur- und Städtebau GmbH.
All parties involved were more than pleased and celebrated with wine and beer in the new building area.
