As early as February 10, 2001, the word mark “igr“ is registered at the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market in Alicante (Spain) under the registration number 009242876 and is therefore copyrighted in all countries of the European Union.

Altogether, the word mark copyright applies to five categories in the Register of Goods and Services (Verzeichnis für Waren und Dienstleistungen). Pre-eminently, these are main businesses of igr in building industry, planning, construction management, project management, engineering of sewage, traffic and environmental facilities as well as airfield pavements, services in agriculture, horticulture and forestry, real estate, EDV consulting and services and seminars and training in the field of engineering services.

This means that throughout the European Union no company is allowed to include the term “igr” into their name if the respective company offers the same or a similar range of products and services.

On April 1, 2015, the patent attorney’s office Kuhnen & Wacker in Freising, operating world-wide and representing our company, also requested a copyright for the new igr logo within the European Union at the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market.

The validation of the copyright request is still in process. Should the entry be confirmed, the word mark “igr” as well as the picture mark


will be copyrighted for the next ten years.
