On Tuesday the 5th April 2016 igr hosted the IBAK presentation on the theme of sewer connection pipe inspection with route measurement.

igr had invited its local customers and several service providers from the visual inspection sector, and in total approximately 25 people accepted the invitation.

Following a short welcome and presentation of the technical operation at igr’s premises, a live demonstration at a sewer in Rockenhausen was given.

With IBAK-3D-GeoSense and hydrostatic height measurement, it is possible to carry out a TV inspection and a comprehensive pipe route measurement in a single working procedure. With minimal effort, the condition of the pipe system can be determined, and a 3D plan of the pipe network created, in which the xyz coordinates are recorded. The z coordinate (height) is determined to the nearest centimetre by the hydrostatic height measurement.

The time-consuming tracking and above-ground surveying of arcs, branch lines and other points, becomes obsolete through the use of such a system for the inspection of connection pipes.

During a shared meal an animated discussion about connection pipe inspection occurred.
