igr presents its range of services  at an information stand at the 7th European risk management directive implementation forum in Meißen on the 11.06.2015.

Following a year with several heavy rain events, the 7th European flood risk management directive implementation forum, held in the historic Meißen council chamber, was devoted to this important topic.

The event was supported by the federal states of Sachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Thüringen. The event organisers were the Rheinland-Pfalz regional authority for the environment, water management and business control (LUWG), the Sachsen regional authority for the environment, agriculture and geology (LfULG), and the department of hydraulic engineering and water management at the Kaiserslautern Technical University.Besides presentations on the implementation of the flood risk management directive, a number of other topics were addressed, such as the handling of extreme weather events and the determining of the potential for flood damage, as well as flood precautions.

The work on the flood risk management plans will be concluded by the federal authorities in 2015. After which the planned measures must be implemented. As an engineering company operating trans-regionally, igr presented its services at an information stand to the interested expert audience. The handling of heavy rain events and the identification of solution-focused approaches to planning were, in particular, the subject of fruitful conversations. Examples of technical flood protection, hydrology and hydraulics, already in operation, were also on display at the igr stand.
