For the Rackwitz sewage treatment plant near Leipzig, igr was commissioned by the Oberer Lober wastewater association to plan an open-space and rooftop photovoltaic system.

The basic goal is to reduce the network electricity consumption of the sewage treatment plant by generating its own electricity using the PV system. In addition, the planning considers the overall integration of the PV systems. The PV generators, inverters, battery storage and transformer system as well as the associated controls for battery control and grid feed-in will later seamlessly ensure the sewage treatment plant's self-consumption optimization in conjunction with the backup grid system.

Since the wastewater treatment plant, as a wastewater disposal company, is assigned to the critical infrastructure, the overall integration and control of all components is essential.
